Getting involved at the Central Synagogue

Photo of community getting involved together

There are many ways to get involved at the Central Synagogue. The more you involve yourself, the more meaningful your relationship with the Synagogue and its community becomes.

Care programme

Here at the Synagogue, our care programme reflects the support that our congregation can give to one another.

If you would be interested in volunteering to help with the elderly or with unwell members of our community, please contact our Welfare Team via the Shul office on 020 7580 1355.

Often just a phone call can be all that is required to give comfort where it is most needed.

Welcoming committee

We operate a committee to welcome visitors and members as they come in to Shul on Shabbat and on festivals.  We run this on a rota basis. If you would like to help greet our guests, hand them a newsletter, show them the way into Shul and maybe introduce them to someone to sit with, please call Raquel at the Shul office on 020 7580 1355.

Security

The security of our members and visitors is paramount.  We have a vigilant security team here who are well known to the community, but we welcome support from members of the community.  If you would be willing to help keep our building secure, especially in the current climate of increased anti-semitic attacks in London, please leave your details in the Shul Office and our Security Officer will be in touch shortly.
