Rabbi Marcus – Lech Lecha

Lecha Lecha means ‘to go’.   This sedra deals with the journey of Avram and his wife Sarai from their homeland of Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) to the land of Israel.  Furthermore, we look at this sedra as the beginning of our Jewish history, as we refer to Abraham as our forefather, the first man associated with a belief in one G-D and an example of how to live an upright life surrounded by people with different values.
