A true story, tracing a precious violin across landscapes devastated by war and terror, to safety and restoration in 21st century Britain.

From fleeing the Bolsheviks in 1917 to the Berlin Philarmonic Orchestra, to Mauthausen, Auschwitz and Belsen concentration camps, this is an incredible story of loss and survival.  Passed from Abraham Levinsky to his daughter Rosa, this beautiful instrument endured.  Woven into the history of the Nuremburg trials and of some of the most important events in modern day history before finally being passed to Israel, the father of the author, Natalie.  In writing this book she was determined to ensure that the Holocaust would never be forgotten.

Following Natalie’s fascinating talk, we are thrilled that we are able to present a recital on this famous violin, which will be played for us by a student from the Yehudi Menuhin School.  We will also be joined by Film Producer, John Deery, who will be adapting the book, The Fiddle, into a feature film, for a Q&A session
