Dr William Pimlott is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism. He recently completed a PhD, Yiddish in Britain: Immigration, Culture and Politics, 1896-1910 at UCL, where he explored the flourishing Yiddish press and literary world of Britain c1900. William has written for a variety of academic and non-academic publications, including Jewish Historical Studies, In Geveb and the London Review of Books.
William is keen to bring joy and curiosity to the centre of these classes – Yiddish is the gateway to an immense world of Eastern European Jewish culture and history.
