Mervyn is married to Andy, who is also a member of Central Synagogue’s Council. They have 2 children, Bernita Shelley and Neil Druian who together with their families are members of Central. He was a founder member of Northwood United Synagogue and served on their Synagogue Council for 10 years and was also a Board member of Cape Town’s Gardens and Claremont Synagogues.
Mervyn is a Past International President of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity,the world’s first and oldest International Dental Organisation and a Governor of Tel Aviv University and an advisor to the Dental School there.
He is also the founder of the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry.
