Central Synagogue

Mr Nigel Gee - Honorary Officer

I am the third son of the late Cecil Gee who was a talented designer and artist and who together with his wife, the late Anne Gee, built the family business into a successful national retail chain.

My two older brothers are Michael and Rowland and all three of us are members of Central and we also share a love of family, good humour, caring for others, smiling faces, music, art, skiing, cars, cheese cake (in small portions) and the Arsenal football club.

I am a solicitor, retailer from birth, long time supporter of, and now a Vice Chairman of British ORT. I sing bass in the London Jewish Male Choir and at Hampstead Garden Opera and I also sing for as long as they will let me at family get togethers and at Purim parties at the Synagogue. I know between half and two thirds of the words of many songs.

UntiI 2000 I travelled the world as Managing Director of the Cecil Gee division of Moss Bros Group. I resigned from Moss Bros Group in 2000 to manage my own property business and shortly after that I also became a founding director of a new corporate concierge business which is run by members of the next generation of the Gee family.

The warm and friendly community at Central is a living example of many of the qualities I aspire to and I am happy to continue serving the Synagogue. I hope in the future to see new generations of happy and caring leaders.
