Children's Services

Why not come to the Children's Service?

On the 25th April 2009, we introduced a new Children's service format to help ensure that children of all ages are catered for.

We now have a dedicated toddlers' service crafted to take the group through a song based, interactive experience of Shabbat, whilst the older children spend time discussing a specific theme of the week, or the weekly parasha, with integrated games and puzzles relevant to the topic.

The activities have all been designed to encourage children to be more enthusiastic about coming to Shul on a more frequent basis, to meet other children from the community and to make friends. We are lucky to have our own purpose built Children's shul, complete with ark and bimah and two honorary officers' boxes(!) as well as a lovely room for toddlers with soft furnishings for them to relax on. This room and the little shul both open onto our beautiful succah.

Our services are led by Raquel and Yoav, and the involvement of the children of Central play a huge part in them.

We are keen to build up a strong young community again, and would love to extend our Shabbat morning services into other activities such as making doughnuts and latkes at Chanukah time, or Hamentashen for Purim, not to mention taking to the stage again with our famed performances (such as 'Moses' and 'Purim the musical') which have always proved to be popular.

Come along and join us, we'd love to see you.
