Rabbi Marcus – Shelach L’cha

This week’s sedra deals with the sad episode of the M’raglim – the 12 spies sent by Moshe at the behest of the nation who, on approaching the ‘promised’ land sought information as to what sort of land it was.  This was despite the fact that both G-d and Moshe had told the people that the land was good.  Other than Joshua and Calev, the spies returned with a report that demoralised the people who subsequently lost faith in their ability to take possession of their divinely ordained inheritance.
