Rabbi Marcus MBE – Vayetze

Ya’acov leaves his home to escape the wrath of his brother Esau and travels to Haran (Mesopotamia – in Iraq of today) to the home of his uncle Lavan. On the second night of his journey an exhausted Ya’acov lies down and the Torah records his remarkable dream of angels ascending and descending a ladder perched on the ground and reaching the heavens. Ya’acov is fortified by this dream onhis journey into the unknown.
