Rabbi Marcus MBE – Haazinu

Today’s Sidra consists of one chapter with the first 43 verses written in poetic form and known as ‘Shirat Ha’azinu’ (literally the song of Ha’azinu) and is Moshe’s farewell song. The only other place in the Torah where we find this special poetic usage is Shirat Moshe (The Song of Moses – ‘Az Yashir Moshe ‘ Exodus Ch.15) which Moses sang when he began his leadership of Israel at the crossing of the Red Sea.
