Rabbi Marcus – Beshalach

This week’s sedra ‘Beshalach’ means ‘when he sent’ referring to the exodus from Egypt.  This week is also known as Shabbat Shirah, the Shabbat of song, since the Song of Moses ‘Az Yashir Moshe’, celebrating the miracle of the splitting of the Sea, is central to the Torah reading.
