The Heat Was On At The Lag B’Omer Barbecue

crowd scene 2

Now a well-established fixture in the Central calendar, our Lag B’Omer barbecue has all the elements of a fun event!

Once again, we are greatly indebted to Roger, Sarah and Abigail and their helpers for sourcing the delicious ingredients and to both Roger  and Steven  for manning the grills for the tasty treats! It was all there; the chicken shish, the hamburgers and sausages. Freshly prepared salads and corn cobs.

My initial thought was that there was actually too much food, but how wrong I was! By mid-afternoon, virtually everything was inside the guests’ stomachs, and still we had to make room for parev ice-cream and cakes!

This eagerly anticipated and well attended event was headed up by Rabbi Marcus with many members of the congregation as well as welcoming many ‘outsiders’. The happy sounds of children rounded out the occasion which was held in the shul’s sunny courtyard.
