Raquel Amit is the Central Synagogue’s Community Development Officer. She is also PA to Rabbi Barry Marcus. Raquel works closely with Rabbi Marcus and Chazan Leas to involve the community with both large- and small-scale events throughout the year.

She has now enjoyed working at the Synagogue for seven years.  Despite having attained an undergraduate degree in Pharmacology and Physiology, as well as a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology prior to joining the team at Central, Raquel also worked as the production coordinator in a publishing company for two years. She has since transferred her attention from multiple national publications to a single community publication – the Central Magazine!

She and her husband, Yoav, can be found downstairs every Shabbat coordinating the new Children’s Services with their beautiful daughters Maya and Leila.
